Microsoft Try To Fix Windows Activation Error Problem In Windows 10 – An issue that began to be present since the January 2021 nonsecurity preview release update yesterday seemed to affect a small number of Windows 10 2004 and 20H2 users, some users reported they encountered problems 0xc004c003 when trying to activate Windows.

This problem is certainly quite annoying, especially for users who are already expensive to buy a Windows 10 license and can not be used properly.

Quoted from a Microsoft page, this issue appears to occur because the license code component tries to access the registru without proper access, so an error message will appear and cause the product key to not be extracted correctly.

Responding to the large number of reports coming in through the feedback hub, Microsoft recently informed them that they are trying to fix this issue, although there is no clear information and the date of the update containing the fix will be released, in the meantime, if you encounter the same problem, you just have to wait for a fix from Microsoft or remove the update that caused this issue. Additionally some sources say removing update KB5001692 may fix the problem.
