Microsoft Plans to Acquire Discord for More Than 10 Billion USD – Some time ago, a report claimed that Discord was mediating with several companies to sell their services.
Regarding this, the report seems not just a rumor because today, Bloomberg has published a new report noting that Microsoft is one of the list of companies looking to buy Discord. At the very least, microsoft reportedly offered a price of more than 10 Billion USD or the equivalent of 144 Trillion Rupiah to begin acquiring this Discord platform.
It’s just that it’s still unclear how the decision of the Microsoft and Discord deal is considering it’s not just Microsoft that’s bidding with Discord.
One of the reasons why Microsoft is interested in Discord and willing to spend so much money is certainly because Discord has grown dramatically over the last few years, and there are even at least 140 million monthly active users and it continues to grow to this day.
In addition, the Skype platform that Microsoft bought a few years ago appears to have deteriorated due to being outmatched by more nimble and ershot competitors such as Whatsapp and Telegram, or like more connected social media such as Facebook Messenger.
